Served in France Wounded, then attached to the American Army within the Intelligence School Returned to Australia November 1918 per ' HMAT Themistocles A32'. Died April 1931 at Fish Creek, Gippsland Victoria.

Embarked 20/10/1914 on HMAT A2 Geelong from Hobart. Served in Egypt,Gallipoli and the Western Front. Returned to Australia Died in Hobart, 27 April 1945, cremated, remains in Section 2 North A.I.F. Arch No 2F Derwent Gardens. Also served in 1st Tas Contingent, the Boer War 1898-1902.
